The Eucharist is a special part of the Catholic Mass as this represents the presence of Jesus in the Church. During a child’s First Holy Communion, it is their first time partaking in the Eucharist and accepting Jesus in their lives. The main reason why girls wear white First Communion dresses and the boys wear presentable attire is because it is a holy and joyous occasion that celebrates the souls becoming one with the Body of Christ. They are making a conscious journey in faith and love of Christ. Once a child partakes in the Eucharist they are full members of the Church, an occasion that must be celebrated.
On Saturday, 24 August 2019, twenty-two of our Grade 3 learners participated in this most Blessed Sacrament of The Eucharist. The Holy Mass was celebrated by our Superior, Reverend Father Maurice Chidiac and he explained to the community and candidates how we partake in a celebration each time we come to Mass and that it is important to always look our best and be in the correct state of mind and spirit in order to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.
It is also a celebration for our school as this is the sixth year that our school has presented this Sacrament through our Church to our learners.
Congratulations and blessings to all our learners on receiving their First Holy Communion and to their families on this special occasion.
